A man was arrested in North Andover after police said he faked being attacked to cover up a robbery he had just committed.

Police said they arrived at the Wood Ridge Homes at around 11 a.m. Sunday, under the impression someone had been stabbed in an armed robbery. A 22-year-old man told police that two people came into his house and attacked him with a knife, before he injured one and they ran off. Responding officers said that they found evidence of a struggle and blood at the scene.

However, police said the story was made up by the 22-year-old to cover up an armed robbery. According to police, the suspect had someone deliver heroin to his home, where he then stole the drugs. The man was arrested and charged with attempted murder, armed robbery and two counts of assault and battery.
