Boston Police are looking for a man suspected of shooting another man in Dorchester over a parking dispute.

The incident took place on Nightingale Street. According to police, the gunman pulled up and complained that he had shoveled out the space where another car was parked.

Police said the owner of a Toyota Camry was going to move but didn’t move fast enough for the suspect. The two argued and that man was shot from close range in the stomach.

Police Commissioner William Evans said it is clear there is a problem. "I think it goes to the point all the time there’s way too many guns," he said. "People are shooting over a parking spot we’ve got a problem."

Police are searching for a 27-year-old suspect in a black BMW. Police said the suspect is familiar to them.

The 34-year-old victim remains hospitalized but is expected to be OK.
