VERNON, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man is facing charges after police say he attempted to take “upskirt” photos of a woman at a Salvation Army thrift store.

Thirty-two-year-old Michael Tedford, of Hartford, is charged with voyeurism, second-degree breach of peace and related crimes. It’s unclear if he has a lawyer.

Police say it happened July 7 inside the Salvation Army store in Vernon. A female customer reported that Tedford walked past her several times and then bent down behind has when she stopped to look at an item. She told police Tedford was holding his cellphone and that his phone’s camera was turned on.

Police say a search of Tedford’s phone turned up images consistent with the reported crime.

Tedford posted a $1,000 bond. He’s scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13.
