BOURNE, Mass. (WHDH) — State police were back at the scene of a deadly hit-and-run accident on the Sagamore Bridge.

They searched for any evidence that may lead them to the vehicle they believe is responsible for the crash. Police said a black pick-up truck merged onto the bridge, clipped another truck and sent it into oncoming traffic.

That truck hit a minivan head on, killing the driver and seriously injuring two passengers.

“We were driving back and we were like how devastating during the holiday,” one woman said.

The accident happened just before 8:30 Thursday night. These women sat in the resulting gridlock for hours.

“How can they leave the scene of something so horrific, it must have looked bad to him,” another woman said.

Police said the pick-up truck continued over the bridge and onto the Cape.

They're looking for a dark colored pick-up truck with minor damage along the front left side. The people inside the minivan were from Israel.

A 43-year-old man from Sandwich was behind the wheel of the pick-up truck.

He was seriously injured.

“It could have happened to anybody, especially on the bridge,” the woman said.
