ANCHORAGE, ALASKA (NBC) — Police in Alaska recently found themselves tracking a potentially dangerous suspect. Only this one had four legs and thick fur.

Earlier this week, police in Anchorage followed a black bear as it wandered through the downtown area.

In the video, you can see the animal weaving through traffic, scampering across busy streets and through construction zones, through homeowners’ yards, and across sidewalks and remarkably close to pedestrians.

Eventually, authorities were able to capture the creature and release it back into the wild.
