LYNN, MASS. (WHDH) - A well-known plastic surgeon from Nahant was arrested in Lynn over the weekend for possession of crack cocaine.

According to the police report, a Lynn detective was watching a suspected drug dealer. The detective said when they approached Sevinor’s car, he “made a throwing motion towards the ground and we both observed several twists of suspected narcotics fall out of Sevinor’s hand.”

Sevinor has been on the North Shore Medical Center (NSMC) medical staff for 39 years and also has a private practice at the hospital in Lynn. He has also performed surgery at Union Hospital. NSMC confirmed in a statement that Sevinor immediately retired.

“We are very concerned about these allegations and have accepted Dr. Sevinor’s immediate retirement from our medical staff,” the hospital said in a statement. “Additionally, we have no record of any prior issues of this nature with Dr. Sevinor.”

Statement from Dr. Sevinor’s attorney:

“Dr. Sevinor has been a respected surgeon for 40 years. He has never been accused of any type of inappropriate behavior. That said, I respectfully decline to make any additional comment. We are in the process of reviewing the allegations and will respond at the appropriate time.”
