A polling place in downtown Providence has been evacuated for an unknown reason.

An Associated Press reporter was inside the polling place at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center at 2:15 p.m. Tuesday when police evacuated. Police at the scene did not give a reason.

Around 70 poll workers and voters were waiting across the street to get back in, and another 50 workers at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center were also seen waiting.

Officers were seen on horseback outside the building while another officer brought a K-9 police dog into the facility.

The polling place was being used for voters who had not yet registered to vote and wanted to cast a ballot in the presidential election.

Several college students from nearby Johnson and Wales University were seen voting there.
