QUINCY, MASS. (WHDH) - Police in Quincy say they have made an arrest in connection with a string of unarmed purse thefts.

The Quincy Police had issued a warning to residents after several similar purse thefts in the area. Police continued to investigate and eventually identified a suspect.

That suspect, Michael Horrigan, 45 of Weymouth, was arrested by Rhode Island State Police. He was driving a gray Dodge Durango when he was arrested, a vehicle that met the description in some of the other reported thefts.

Horrigan will be returned to Massachusetts and arraigned in Quincy District Court. He faces unarmed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
