A Secret Service agent severely injured in a car crash in New Hampshire last month has married his fiancee at a Boston hospital where he’s being treated.

Garrett FitzGerald was part of Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s protective detail when the crash occurred. He got married Saturday at Massachusetts General Hospital, where he’s recovering from a spinal cord injury.

Longtime friend Rob Freed set up a GoFundMe page to help FitzGerald. He said Monday he served as FitzGerald’s best man over the weekend.

FitzGerald was one of four Secret Service agents involved in a collision on Dec. 29 in Wakefield, New Hampshire. An unlicensed driver trying to pass another car crashed head-on into their car and died.

Freed says FitzGerald is in high spirits and motivated to start his rehabilitation.
