ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) – Maryland is joining New York and Massachusetts in a legal action against Volkswagen over diesel emissions cheating.
Prosecutors in the three states say an earlier settlement with VW did not resolve claims regarding violations of state environmental law.
Volkswagen says the lawsuits are “regrettable” while it is still in discussion with U.S. federal and state authorities.
The prosecutors say the automaker equipped diesel vehicles with software that cheated on emissions tests.
