BOSTON (WHDH) - Officials say a student was arrested Monday for bringing an unloaded gun to school.

Officials say a 12-year-old had a gun, knife, and a mask.

According to a robocall sent to parents of students at the Trotter School, located on the Dorchester/Roxbury line, Principal Mairead Nolan informed parents that an unloaded gun and another weapon were recovered during a search of a student’s bag.

School officials immediately called Boston Police, and the student was arrested. According to the robocall, the student will be disciplined both through the BPS Code of Conduct as well as any appropriate charges from law enforcement.

Officials said the school followed all necessary steps to ensure students, faculty and staff were never in danger.
