BRENTWOOD, N.H. (WHDH) — The scene is secure after police officers and SWAT teams were at a house in Brentwood, New Hampshire, where a suicidal person was barricaded inside.

The standoff happened at Mill Pond Crossing in a community complex for people over the age of 50. Police said a family called 911 asking for help after a suicidal man barricaded himself inside his house and was believed to have at least one gun. Residents were asked to stay inside their homes while police secured the scene.

Officers could be seen swarming the house in a standoff that lasted nearly three hours. Police said the suspect was found dead inside the house. A neighbor told 7News the suspect was a 62-year-old man.

This is not the first time this neighborhood has dealt with such a situation. In May 2014, a police officer was ambushed and killed on the same street while responding to a domestic situation. In that incident, the man blew up his ranch-style house after killing the police officer. He then killed himself.
