BILLERICA, MASS. (WHDH) - A teenage boy was seriously injured after getting hit by a car while riding his bicycle Thursday afternoon in Billerica.

Around 3:50 p.m., police said they received reports regarding a pedestrian who was struck by a car on Boston Road. When police arrived, they learned a 35-year-old woman from Chelmsford was traveling northbound when she struck the 14-year-old from Billerica, who was on a bicycle crossing the street in a crosswalk.

The teen sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The woman was not injured and remained on scene.

Police are investigating to determine if charges will be filed.
