UNDATED (WHDH) — Titanic director James Cameron is teaming up with marine scientists on Cape Cod.

Cameron announced Tuesday morning that he's giving his deep-sea challenger sub to the team at Woods Hole in order to advance deep sea research.

The announcement comes one year after Cameron used the sub for a record dive to the deepest place on earth: the Marianna trench, nearly 36-thousand feet below sea level.
