BANGOR, Maine (AP) — Police in Bangor, Maine, say the driver of a tractor taking part in the city's Fourth of July parade has died in an accident.

WABI-TV reports Sgt. Paul Edwards says the tractor was hit from behind by an old fire truck. The driver of the tractor was killed.

Edwards said the accident happened on Water Street, where the parade had been rerouted because of a standoff between an armed man and police.
