NEWTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Transit Police confirmed that a male in his teens was hit and killed by a Commuter Rail train in Newton Friday night.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s office has confirmed that it was a 14-year-old boy.

Police said they received a call about a possible person hit by a train at around 8:45 p.m. Friday. Responding officers said the victim was struck on the inbound track by a train on the Worcester Line.

The victim’s name has not been released. Witnesses told 7News that there is a hole in a nearby fence and people cut across the tracks frequently.

Police said no foul play is suspected.
