TRENTON, Maine (AP) — Maine State Police say a Trenton teen has been taken into custody and is being charged with criminal threatening after the 16-year-old's parents told police the boy and two guns were missing from their ransacked home.

Officials say Dylan Sargent was spotted near a police roadblock around 6 p.m. Friday and was arrested after a foot chase.

Police say they've recovered the two handguns that Sargent had taken from his home. They were recovered at two separate locations.

Police began searching for Sargent at about 1 p.m., when his parents reported him and the guns missing. Police say about two hours later, Sargent confronted a teenage girl, who fended him off.

Authorities say Sargent is expected to be transported to the Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston.
