WESTWOOD, MASS. (WHDH) - It was a familiar sight in Westwood as another truck slammed into a low railroad bridge.
The latest incident happened on Christmas Eve at the East Street Bridge. The truck’s roof ripped right off.
Plans are in place to reconstruct the MBTA bridge.
The plan is to ask for bids in the spring, begin construction by June and have the bridge replaced by the end of 2018. The road is also expected to be widened.
The MBTA said they first wanted to do some of this construction in the 1990’s, but there was push back from the neighborhood.
