MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) — Donald Trump is bragging that he has the backing of two of New England’s favorite sports stars: Tom Brady and Bill Belichick.

The GOP nominee told the audience at a Manchester, New Hampshire, rally that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady called him today to say he’d voted for him.

Trump also claims he received a “the most beautiful” letter from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, wishing him luck on Tuesday. He appeared to be reading Belichick’s words directly from the alleged letter as he stood at the podium.

But the same day, Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen responded to a comment on a post from her Instagram account refuting Trump’s claims.

Brady said he has not yet voted for president and will not announce who he voted for until after the election.
