SOUTH BOSTON, Mass. (WHDH) — Family members of alleged Boston Marathon bomber, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, show their support for the teenager in federal court Wednesday.
Around five minutes after the Tsarnaev hearing ended, out came the defendant’s two sisters. They had nothing to say as they left the court house and they tried to shield themselves from cameras, using iPads and notebooks as blockers. One wore a white scarf around her head and had it pulled tightly around her face to shield it. She cried softly. The other sister held a tiny baby and seemed more composed on the walk out. They walked along the west side of the courthouse along the channel through some parking lots towards the United Way of Massachusetts Bay parking garage a couple of blocks from the court house.
Tsarnaev smiled in the court house when he saw his sisters and the woman with the white scarf called out, “I love you, Dzhokhar.” So while the bombing suspect had almost no support in the Boston area, he did have his family with him during the trial.
Tsarnaev plead not guilty to 30 counts, including using weapons of mass destruction.
