BRAINTREE, MASS. (WHDH) - Two men were arrested after allegedly robbing a Bank of America in Braintree.

Just after 1 p.m on Monday, a man entered the Bank of America on Tremont Street and robbed a teller after displaying a handgun and demanding money.

According to police, the man then ran away.

A person across the street in the area of McDonald’s pointed out to a transit police officer a man who ran into a waiting car.

The transit officer, along with Braintree police officers, stopped the car on Ivory Street, bu the car drove off after first pulling to the side of the road.

Officers chase the car down Route 3, but soon lost sight of the car.

State Police soon located the car and chased it down Route 24.

The car was seen by a Brockton police officer exiting the highway and two men were taken into custody.

Both men will be charged with armed robbery, larceny of $250 and additional charges.

They will be arraigned in Quincy District Court on Tuesday morning.
