Baton Rouge honored the officers who were shot and killed over the weekend on Tuesday.

A large crowd gathered for a memorial at police headquarters.

Hundreds on hand paid their respects in a show of solidarity with police.

Three officers were shot and killed by a former marine on Sunday.

During the memorial, officers said its important that the city is united.

“It gives you goose bumps to see this many people here. For once it feels like people are supporting us and they’re not throwing things at us saying vulgar words toward us,” said Officer Mike Richard of the Baton Rouge PD.

Two officers who were injured in the attack remain hospitalized.

One is listed in critical condition, another is in good condition.
