TAUNTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A fatal boat crash in Taunton left one dead and two injured on Saturday.

One driver, Mark Green, 39 of Moultonborough, NH, was declared dead at the scene.

The crash, which took place at Bill Giles Memorial Regatta on Watson’s Pond, happened around 1 p.m on Saturday.

Three boats were in a speed race when the first boat spun out and caused a pileup.

The second boat collided with the first, and the third boat crashed into the second.

All three drivers were ejected from their boats.

Taunton Fire Dive Team and rescue swimmers were able to get all three victims out of the water.

A second driver, a 67-year-old man from Maine, was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. He was in critical condition.

A third driver was also injured and taken to the hospital.

Both drivers remain hospitalized at this time.
