HARRIS COUNTY, TX — A bus crash in Texas leaves 16 students in the hospital.

James Beights was stopped on the road, about to make a left turn, when a school bus came up behind him.

The driver clipped his truck then swerved to the right before ending up in a ditch.

The driver, Brenda Armster, was asking the children a question, her eyes off the road, when the crash occured.

“You can’t make those kind of mistakes with fifty children. Beights says,  It’s not just acceptable.  She can’t be asking questions of the children while driving 50, 60 miles an hour in the rain with that many on board.”

Armster and 16 children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

Armster did not comment on what happened but she is not being cited by police or disciplined by the school.  This is not her usual route, she was filing in for another driver.

Armster has been a crosby I-S-D driver for 25 years.
