What an incredible swing in temps from Sunday morning to Monday afternoon! Many towns had a change of 60-70 degrees from that frigid Sunday morning start to the mild air yesterday afternoon.  Of course all that mild air came with strong winds and downpours, but it was nice to thaw out from that deep freeze.

This morning, the downpours are long gone but some residual moisture lingers and with temperatures near freezing, patchy black ice has formed.  Watch the step out the door this morning.  They’ll likely be some slick spots in the driveway, sidewalk and some of the secondary roads that weren’t retreated after last nights rain.  We’ll thaw out this afternoon though with temperatures back into the 40s and some sunshine. I say, time to let the kiddos run around outside and burn off all that Valentines sugar they have running through their system.

The rest of the week looks rather quiet.  It’ll be breezy and colder tomorrow with a snow shower or two across the Cape.  Friday looks dry and the weekend looks a bit mild.  There will likely be a couple snow showers late Friday night and a leftover flurry or sprinkle Saturday, but no big storm or big cold this weekend with afternoons in the 40s.

Next chance of a bigger storm may roll in here by Wednesday of next week, but plenty of time to watch for that one.

Have a good day!
