Coastal towns on the South Shore and Cape Cod were hard at work Monday to hold off any potential damage ahead of Tuesday’s snowstorm.

Sandbags were put out to prevent erosion, one of the biggest concerns on the coast. In Scituate, people were tying down furniture or bringing things inside.

Stay up-to-date with storm closings and delays.

“Keep everything up high. Just be prepared,” said Scituate resident Jez Rocap.

The South Shore could see 6 to 12 inches of snow. While Cape Cod is expecting between 3 and 6 inches, it will also have to contend with strong winds.
