The National Weather Service in Taunton has issued a winter storm watch for parts of Massachusetts starting Monday and lasting until Tuesday morning.

The areas affected include a large portion of Rhode Island and eastern Massachusetts, including the Providence, Worcester, and Greater Boston areas. The Merrimack Valley and Cape Ann will also be affected.

There is the potential for four to seven inches of snow across the watch area by Monday night.

Wind gusts are expected to reach up to 30 miles per hour. 

Visibility may be reduced at times to one-half mile or less.

The storm watch is expected to end at 7:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.
