PORTLAND, OREGON (WHDH) — Surveillance video shows a woman walking up to Erin Hatzi’s red Subaru, climbing in and driving away.

So Hatzi filed a police report.

The next day, Hatzi said her husband was taking out the garbage when he saw a police officer had stopped a woman right outside their house.

She said the woman had just gotten out of their car and had left a note.

The note explained how the woman had gone to the area to pick up a friends red Subaru and she ended up taking the wrong car.

She also left behind gas money.

Police say sometimes an older model Subaru key can work in different cars.

No charges will be filed.
