HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Police have arrested a woman suspected of strangling a man in a Hartford condominium.

Lt. Brian Foley, commander of the police major crimes division, says the 24-year-old woman called 911 at about 1 p.m. Saturday, claiming that she had a domestic violence incident with her boyfriend. Officers who arrived at the Wethersfield Avenue home found the 27-year-old man dead at the scene.

Foley says investigators have evidence that the man was strangled, but the medical examiner will formally determine the manner and cause of death.

Foley says detectives are investigating the case, including any domestic violence issues at the home.

Foley says the woman will likely be charged Saturday night. He says police are working with the Connecticut state attorney's office to determine what charges should be applied against the suspect.
