A woman was killed Thursday after being hit by an asphalt truck in Worcester.

According to Worcester Police, the pedestrian crash happened at 37 Ernest Avenue around 9 a.m.

Police said the truck struck the woman and dragged her nearly 60 feet.

The truck is owned by Harrison Paving of Worcester. The crew was working to resurface an asphalt driveway on the road.

The woman has not been identified at this time.

Neighbors said the victim was well-known in the neighborhood for taking daily morning walks.

There is no word on the cause f the crash, but it appears the driver simply didn’t see the woman.

An investigation is ongoing.
