BOSTON (WHDH) - The owners of the Cask ‘n Flagon appeared at a hearing at City Hall on Tuesday after two women said their drinks at the bar were drugged.
The bar, which sits in the shadow of Fenway Park, was served with a licensed premise violation after the allegations.
One of the bar’s co-owners appeared before the licensing board.
Boston Police described the first incident, where a young woman suddenly felt sick while sitting at the bar.
“The victim’s sister stated she had to assist her walking out because she felt so ill,” police said.
The second incident was reported during the same weekend as the first report. A woman said she also suddenly became ill and last remembers being in the bar’s bathroom.
“Woke up about 3:30 am on Saturday and stated she was laying in a bed in an unknown apt and she believes she was sexually assaulted,” police said.
The owner said staff members check the bathrooms every 30 minutes and are always ready to help sick patrons.
They said they were not aware of any incidents that weekend.
“It’s totally outside of any protocols that someone would be allowed to hang out in the bathroom having by someone’s words blacked out and the staff not be aware of it,”
said attorney Dennis Quilty. “It just doesn’t make any sense.
There are no surveillance cameras in the building.
The licensing board took the matter under advisement.
An investigation is ongoing.
