WORCESTER, MASS. (WHDH) -

Worcester Police responded to a home invasion Thursday night.

On Thursday, just before 6 p.m., Worcester police arrived at Dutton Street for a report of a break in.

The officer was told the home owners, a 41-year-old male and 35-year old female, arrived home at 5 p.m. and noticed someone had broken in.

According to police the suspect got in by forcing open the side door.

The owners told officers some electronics were missing along with a firearm the man legally owns.

Evidence allowed officers to identify the suspect as 32-year-old Sean Regele of Rutland, Ma.

Investigators began a search for Regele and shortly later he arrived at Worcester police headquarters and met with detectives.

Regele was placed under arrest and charged with the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, larceny in a building, larceny of a firearm, carrying a firearm without a license and carrying a loaded firearm without a license.

He was arraigned Saturday at Worcester County District Courthouse.

The firearm has not been located.
