A Worcester man was ordered held without bail after police said he committed a violent crime spree in the city on Tuesday.

All the alleged crimes all occurred within an hour, starting after 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Police said Antonio Damon, 35, broke into a business on Main Street and grabbed a woman by the neck. Police said he forcefully raped her at knifepoint before leaving.

Damon then allegedly carjacked another woman and sexually assaulted her while driving. Police said the woman managed to open the car door and escape while he was behind the wheel.

Police said Damon smashed a window on the door of a business on Denny Street and got inside, robbing a man. A woman and several children allegedly locked themselves in a bathroom while this happened. Police said officers arrived and cornered Damon in the business. Damon allegedly threatened to shoot the officers with an assault rifle before he was arrested.

Damon was in court Wednesday and now faces a number of charges, including assault with a dangerous weapon, aggravated rape, strangulation, armed robbery, kidnapping, carjacking and indecent assault and battery. He was already out on personal recognizance on warrants in Boston and Worcester but police have since revoked his bail.
