Worcester Police are investigating after a woman was killed in a multi-car crash Wednesday afternoon.

According to police, they responded to Blackstone River Road for a report of a crash involving multiple cars around 12:30 p.m.

Officers found a green Ford Expedition, a blue Jaguar and a red Pontiac at the intersection of Blackstone River Road and Whipple Street.

Officers found a 48-year-old woman lying face down in the road. She was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

A preliminary investigation shows the Jaguar was  driven by the woman, who was speeding and honking her horn.

Police said the Jaguar collided with three other vehicles and she was ejected from the car through the front windshield.

An investigation is ongoing.
