SCITUATE, R.I. (WHDH) — Vandals struck at a popular park in Rhode Island, damaging a gazebo.
Members of the non-profit that owns the Hope Village Green Park in Scituate said the custom gazebo was seriously damaged and a railing was smashed. The cost of the damage was estimated at $1,000.
The vandalism comes just before the park’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony, which always happens on Thanksgiving weekend.
This is the second time in just a few months that the park has been vandalized.
