A Boston Celtics spokesperson confirmed that a bomb scare occurred on a charter flight on the way to Oklahoma City.

Officials believe it was a hoax.

A team spokesperson says everyone is safe.

Oklahoma City Police say the call was received around 4 p.m.

Police say the team landed safely.

Officials say after the plane landed, a bomb squad searched the plane and found nothing.

According to the Celtics, the NBA is working with the FBI as they investigate.

Delta Airlines released the following statement to 7News:

The threat was made to the flight itself, and not to the members aboard the plane.

The team was flying to the Midwest to play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday night.

The threat was one of several threats made to several planes across the country.
