BOSTON (WHDH) - When it comes to the best sports cities in the country, Boston is number…2?

That’s what one website says, ranking the region near but not at the top of the list.

According to WalletHub, Boston falls just short to New York for sports cities when sorted by metrics such as team performance, average ticket price, number of bars, and others.

The site measured Boston’s rank per sport in terms of fan experience, ranking Boston No. 2 for basketball and hockey and fifth for baseball but – incredibly – just 13th for football. The city also ranked 11th as a soccer city.

Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Chicago rounded out the top five best sports cities.
