BOSTON (WHDH) - Retired Red Sox star David Ortiz was honored with the Boston Pride award at the Globies, which honors the best in New England sports.
The Boston Pride award is presented to the person who is the most outstanding representative of Boston sports.
“The fans, that’s the one thing I always think about, the fans, how great the fans are,” said Ortiz. “They were a big part of my success. That’s one thing that I’m definitely gonna miss, performing in front of the fans here.”
In his acceptance speech, Ortiz called Boston the “best sports city in the world.”
