FOXBORO, MASS. (WHDH) - Wide receiver Julian Edelman suffered a foot injury during New England Patriots practice on Tuesday.

He was carted off of the field for evaluation just two days after returning to the field.

“Julian brings his own juice, and we kind of all feed off of him, he brings his own enthusiasm and you know its real contagious,” Patriots running back Brandon Bolden said.

“He’s probably one of our most competitive guys,” Patriots defensive back Devin McCourty said. “He does everything on the field. He’s really part of the heart and soul of our team so I don’t know what happened but hes a big part of what we do here.”

An unrivaled competitor with unquestioned toughness, Edelman perhaps pushed him limits a bit too soon, creating another level of uncertainty for the Patriots in training camp.

Edelman was not the only injury at practice Tuesday.

Rob Ninkovich could have possible torn his tricep and is scheduled to undergo an MRI.
