BOSTON (WHDH) - Boston-based company New Balance is helping send off David Ortiz in style.
The Red Sox designated hitter will wear special cleats in his final series against each AL East rival, including taxi cab-themed shoes for New York, and sneakers featuring a maple leaf for Toronto.
For his final series at Fenway, Ortiz’s cleats will feature the date of each walkoff homer he has hit during his career.
Monday night, Ortiz hit his 35th home run of the season, setting a record as the oldest MLB player to reach 35 home runs in a season.
