The Red Sox issued a release detailing improvements expected to Fenway Park for the 2015 season.

Full release:

Enhanced WiFi
The Red Sox, in partnership with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM) and the league-wide ballpark connectivity initiative, will be expanding Fenway Park’s WiFi network giving all fans access to coverage inside the ballpark. The club will also significantly enhance the existing Distributed Antenna System (DAS) that was originally installed in 2011 – a network of antennas that deliver wireless cellular service within a geographical area.

These enhancements are designed to greatly improve the mobile device reception, speed, and application support for fans inside Fenway Park, and provide improved cellular service throughout the ballpark’s surrounding perimeter. The WiFi and cellular service enhancements have been an area of focus for the club in recent years as demand from fans for increased connectivity has increased.

The expansion of the network is anticipated to triple Fenway Park’s WiFi coverage, making it one of the most digitally well-connected venues in all of professional sports.  The expanded DAS system is expected to be in place by Opening Day and the new WiFi network is expected to be operational sometime shortly after the start of the season.

Group Party Suite, Pavilion Reserved Seating, and Lansdowne Pavilion
The EMC and State Street Pavilion levels on the left field side of the ballpark will be extended to the foul pole with a new party suite and expansion of the Pavilion Reserved seating sections. The new 35-person party suite adjacent to the Green Monster will be sold on a game-by-game basis and will feature 26 seats outside and 11 seats inside facing the field. As part of their new agreement with the Red Sox, Infiniti will be the title sponsor of the high-end suite which will be the largest on the EMC level. Infiniti is the official luxury vehicle of the Boston Red Sox.

The extension of the State Street Pavilion level immediately above the new Infiniti Suite will serve as home to approximately 100 new Pavilion Reserved seats. These seats, as do the Coca Cola Corner, have an average price of $75.

Additionally, a new private outdoor group space, the Lansdowne Pavilion, located directly behind the new Pavilion Reserved seating sections, will be added to accommodate groups of 10-16 people and be available for purchase on an individual game basis.

The 2015 improvements are expected to add between 150 and 200 seats to Fenway Park.

Budweiser Right Field Roof Deck Refresh
The Budweiser Right Field Roof Deck will get a complete refresh for the 2015 season. The refresh will feature a new fully-functional bar that will provide a wider variety of Budweiser products, including their newest craft beer offerings, new and improved seating areas with new furniture and waiter/waitress service that also covers new lounge seating areas, and new TV’s in the Budweiser bar, which will be accessible to all fans. The Red Sox and Aramark will also create a specialty destination menu for the Right Field Roof Deck featuring offerings created exclusively for the revamped space.

New Visiting Team Workout Room
For visiting teams, the existing visitor’s clubhouse area will be expanded to include a new workout room. Currently, the workout room located within the Red Sox clubhouse is used by both teams at designated times. This change will give both teams greater access and privacy.

LED Ribbon Boards
Providing additional game information to fans, two new 30” high x 39.3′ wide LED ribbon boards will be furnished and installed by ANC Sports on the State Street Pavilion level fascia.

Gilbane Inc., with offices in Boston, is the general contractor for the 2015 improvements. DAIQ Architects, based in Somerville, provided the architectural work.

The 10-year cycle of major improvements to Fenway Park was completed in 2011. Since then, smaller scale enhancements have been made annually as part of the ongoing preservation and protection of the ballpark. To date, over $300 million has been invested in the improvement of Fenway Park since 2002.
