BOSTON (WHDH) - Red Sox fans are saying a big “Thank You” to Big Papi.
David Ortiz has just one final regular season series at Fenway Park this weekend.
Governor Charlie Baker spoke out about the baseball star on Friday.
“This weekend David Ortiz ends his 13-year-reign as the sort of king of the hill at Fenway and for me, his retirement is going to be a big deal,” he said.
A giant red “34” made its way around Boston on Friday so fans could take pictures next to it.
Fans will also get the chance to sign a thank you card for Ortiz as well.
On Friday, fans expressed their thanks.
