According to ESPN reports, the New England Patriots have signed quarterback Tom Brady to a two-year extension through 2019.

ESPN reporter Adam Schefter reported the news on his Twitter account. Terms of the deal were not immediately available.

Brady, 38, is coming off a season in which he led the Patriots to the AFC Championship game for the fifth consecutive season. He threw for 4,770 yards and 36 touchdowns with only 7 interceptions on the year. The Patriots were 12-4, winning the AFC East for the 12th time in 13 seasons.

The Patriots advanced to the AFC title game but lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos.

Brady is a four-time Super Bowl champion, a two-time MVP and a three-time Super Bowl MVP.

Schefter notes that Brady will be 42 at the conclusion of this extension.
