There’s a chance Jimmy Garoppolo could be available for Thursday’s game after all, according to reports from ESPN.

The Patriots quarterback, filling in for Tom Brady during a four-game suspension, suffered a shoulder injury in Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Head Coach Bill Belichick addressed Garoppolo’s injury but didn’t provide specifics, at one point sparring with a reporter who pressed him on balancing health concerns with the best interests of the team.

Backup to the backup, Jacoby Brissett, is expected to start Thursday night, but it’s still Bill Belichick’s call.

Taking a back seat in the discussion, Tom Brady, said on a radio interview that Jimmy was playing very well before he was hurt.

Brissett was in for Tuesday’s practice, while Garoppolo was noticeably missing. Garoppolo was listed as a “limited participant” in practice.
