Train service resumed Thursday afternoon in Mansfield after a 47-year-old man was struck and killed by a train Wednesday.
Police are now investigating the incident.
According to police, the man was struck near the Mansfield train station as the train traveled 60 miles per hour.
Witnesses say the man attempted to cross the tracks near Crocker Street, police said. Transit police have identified the victim, but have not yet notified his family.
The Mansfield commuter rail station was closed on Thursday as police continued their investigation.
Trains did not stop in Mansfield during the day on Thursday.
Mansfield police said Thursday afternoon that all of the vehicles that were impacted by the crash on Wednesday will be available to pick up at 3 p.m.
"Due to continued cleanup on Mansfield Ave., those vehicles parked there will be brought to you by a representative of the MBTA," the police said in a Facebook post. "The reason for this procedure will be explained to you at that time."
