Bruins captain Zdeno Chara teamed up with McDonald’s in Montreal to bring a big surprise to Canadiens fans.
In the commercial, Canadiens fans were asked if they would give Chara a hug in exchange for a free Big Mac. Nobody was expecting Chara to walk out and ask for a hug. Everyone ended up hugging Chara and he shared a free Big Mac with fans of the Bruins’ arch-rivals.
"That was awesome," said Bruins fan Kaitlin Worobey. "They still hugged him, even though I’d hug him too." When 7News asked Bruins fans if they would hug Canadiens player PK Subban for a free Big Mac, most said they did not think they would be able to.
While Canadiens fans were willing to hug Chara, they would not do everything asked. Chara asked one woman if she would say "Go Boston" and got his request turned down.
