BOSTON (WHDH) - Pete Frates and his family will be at Strega Monday night to celebrate a key discovery in the quest to find a cure for ALS.
Frates, who played baseball at Boston College, inspired the Ice Bucket Challenge two years ago.
Money raised from the social media campaign helped scientists identify a gene that plays an important role in Lou Gehrig’s disease.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Frates Foundation.
