SALEM, N.H. (WHDH) - The police department in Salem, New Hampshire has been evacuated due to a haz-mat situation, according to the station’s Twitter feed.
The station was evacuated Friday afternoon after someone accidentally mixed two household drain cleaners, creating a dangerous gas.
Two officers were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
The communications operators were relocated to the Salem Fire Department for the duration of the incident.
The building was aired out, and the department is now back to normal operations.
