Cold stuff again this morning…

The chill was certainly in the air again to start this Sunday with lows running into the single digits and teens for many. Although, with sunshine and light winds today, it’s a more manageable cold that’s in place and not bad to get outside and out and about if you have to grab that Christmas tree or do some more holiday shopping. Temps near 30 this afternoon with an increase of high clouds later today and tonight.

The clouds that increase tonight eventually yield some patchy light snow/snow showers by tomorrow morning. A few sporadic snow showers linger into the afternoon and even a couple of rain drops mix in across far southeast Mass. It’s not a big storm, but a coating to a 1/2-1″ in some towns would be enough to create a few slick spots in the AM for some. Highs reach the low 30s inland to the upper 30s across southeast Mass.

The flakes we see tomorrow are due to milder air trying to nose into New England. That milder air succeeds by Tuesday with highs running into mid to upper 40s. Cooler air prevails again Wednesday and Thursday.

While this week is void of significant storms, by next weekend through Christmas Day we’ll have to be watched for some unsettled weather at times. With the pattern favoring Arctic air centered in the Midwest and Plains and warmth in the Southeast US, we may find ourselves in the battle zone/storm track. Saturday favors showers and milder air, but, beyond that, it’s too early to get too specific on timing (what day we get hit) or specifics on any snow/ice or rain. Something to keep an eye on for now.

Have a great Sunday and Goooooooooooooooo Pats!!!!!!!!!!!
