It’s going to snow tomorrow for much of southern New England–Boston included and….it’s par for the course:

Recent Decembers (even the infamous snow blitz season of 2014-2015) have been rather quiet for the snow lovers but this year our pattern is a colder pattern and a colder pattern means storms can (and do) offer snow. This is not a major winter storm as we don’t have a nor’easter on our hands to generate powerful winds or pummel our coastline with flooding but this will be our first significant snowfall of the season—a plowable snow.

Storm Deets:
* Moderate snow event
* First flakes 9-11am Saturday. Last flakes 6-8am Sunday
* Steadiest snow 12pm Saturday-12am Sunday
* Wet, sticky, heavy (as in weight) snow along coast/light & fluffy snow inland
* Temps not bitterly cold
*  Light to moderate wind (10-20 mph)

Snowfall forecast…

And south…

Travel. It’s not the type of storm where we’ll say “get off the roads by such and such time”……Travel will be poor late day and evening with snow covered roads in spots but manageable as road crews will be able to keep up with the pacing of the snow.

Keep with the dinner reservations and Holiday Parties…just allow plenty of travel time.

Storm pulls out Sunday morning but no bitter blast or wicked wind behind the storm…a bit of a cool breeze with afternoon temps in the upper 30s. Ideal for sledding or some added shoveling & clean-up. Risk of some more snow early next week (Tuesday). Too far away for details on that storm…one at a time. Enjoy the December snow.

Myself and Chris are here all weekend to see you through the storm. Download our new weather app if you are away from TV this weekend.
